The Isle of Raasay is home to many thriving businesses. As well as being essential local services, they also provide valuable and varied employment opportunities for the community. There is a mixture of entry level jobs as well as those looking to add to their experience. If you are interested in the nurse position there may well be employment opportunities for your spouse and/or children either right here on the island or just across on Skye. Raasay’s unique location and accessibility means that it is perfectly possible to commute to work to Skye on a daily basis.

The Isle of Raasay Distillery

Raasay Distillery started producing spirit in 2017 and has quickly become a central part of the community. Over 10% of the islands’ population are employed between the award winning guest accommodation, visitor centre and production facilities. This has allowed a significant number of the islands’ young people to remain or even move back here to work. The first Raasay single malt was released in 2020. Aside from the whisky, the distillery regularly hosts acclaimed traditional musicians from all over Scotland to perform in its popular Raasay Tunes events.
